Andrea Ramsay-Speers, Psychotherapist

Andrea Ramsay-Speers, Psychotherapist, graduated from the Adler School of Professional Psychology with a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology. Her main area of focus is counselling for issues that affect families. This includes any concern that influences and affects the well-being of a family as a systemic unit, not just specific parenting concerns. Her varied clinical experience includes depression, anxiety, parenting, marital discord, anger management, trauma, divorce, life skills, career exploration and planning, and developmental issues facing client populations from children to seniors.

Andrea offers free initial consultations with clients. With information on the many community agencies that provide support to Oakville residents, she is able to make appropriate referrals depending on the client's needs. Andrea is an affiliate with Dr. Dan Dalton Psychological and Counselling Services, and as such her services are eligible for coverage through most extended health care providers.

She is the author of a monthly article on parenting issues called "Family Life," for the web site Life With Kids (www.lifewithkids.ca),.She is also the parenting expert for Oak Park Moms and Tots (www.oakparkmomsandtots.ca), hosting a Q&A forum for parenting questions, serving parents of children up to age six. Andrea is also one of the Parent Educators for Invest in Kids' pilot project The Parenting Partnership (www.theparentingpartnership.ca), which is a comprehensive parenting program designed for first time parents, from prenatal through to their child's second year.
